Everyone ... [His voice has pulled a complete 180, Noel sounds irreparably broken, his face half hidden into Squall.] Everyone goes. I just ...

[He's holding on tighter, there's something beyond desperate in his grip.]

[ he felt a pain inside himself hearing that comment, hearing that tone. It was all to familiar to him. He held onto Noel tighter. ]

Noel...

[The worst are there, but even in this state Noel just can't bring himself to say it. He doesn't know if its still fear or if the alcohol is finally slowing him down rather than amping up. But instead of spitting out those five words Noel shakes his head against Squall as if to dispel that concern.

Things would be better once they were home. They had to be.]

Lets get you home and in bed.

[ Something told him he probably shouldn't leave his side tonight. ]

Mm...

[That's a really good plan of attack, Squall. For now, Noel is back to being quiet and occasionally snuggling a little around the edges.]

[ Honestly right now he is a little happy Noel was on his back right now, because he knows if he were to see any look on Noel's face right now it might actually make his heart hurt. ]

[There's no need to worry about that, though. Squall's walk feels rhythmic and Noel doesn't exactly fall asleep but he does begin to doze off. He always startles back into consciousness, though, as if something panic inducing crossed his mind.

Almost there. Suddenly he was looking forward to being in familiar walls. Maybe he can check on the chikabos.]

[ At least Noel has a fluffy collar to lean into while he tries to be comfortable, right? Finally getting to their place, squall pushed open the door and shut it behind him with his foot. He continues carrying Noel until he gets to his room and drops him on the bed. ]

[Yes, at least he has that, and it's strangely comfortable. He recognizes their building and looks up, making a vaguely strange, dark noise of recognition. Onto his bed, Noel goes! But his hands catch on Squall's jacket or shirt or anything, he's three-fourths awake and refusing to let go of him, in fact he's actively pulling Squall down and hopefully closer.]

[ He makes a startled noise and gets pulled down into the bed with him. He pushes himself up a little and stares at Noel. ]

[And that's close enough to lean up and kiss him. The remnants of tequila might be lingering on his lips which is why it's close mouthed.]

[ Squall completely froze up when he felt Noel's lips on his own. It was certainly something he wasn't expecting. He wasn't used to physical contact and certainly not any contact like this.]

[A drunk Noel doesn't notice these things. He realizes he's a little too smashed for tongue kissing but Squall's understandable intimacy barriers float out of his mind.

He flops back onto the bed and closes his eyes.]

That's why. The girl. Needed to find someone else to kiss.

[He sighs.]

I'm sorry.

Noel...

[ He really didn't know what to say. It's not every day someone just kisses him out of the blue like that. Honestly what could he say?]

Sorry.

Just don't - don't ...

[Leave. He doesn't have to say much else other than that.]

I didn't mean to, it just sort of happened and then I didn't say anything for weeks.

[Apparently he'll just ramble if Squall doesn't interrupt.]

[ he frowned and stared off to the side. He wasn't upset with Noel. He just hated how he was bad with words and he knew he was bad with words. ]

I'm not mad at you... just... we can talk about this when you're more sober.

[Not mad. Squall wasn't mad. Okay. Noel could live with that. He could handle it.]

['Not mad' didn't meant 'we can still be friends without immense levels of awkward', but it was something.]

[ Squall shrugs as if saying it's fine and gently tries pushing Noel down to the bed so he can try to sleep. ]

[He goes down easily, his body relaxes into the mattress and he stares up at the ceiling.]

... Are the chicks okay?

[innermonologues]

[ Squall pulls the blankets over him, but continues sitting on the bed awkwardly. ]

They're fine. Fell asleep a little while ago.

[brokenparadox]

Okay. You're a good dad. And I pick good blankets.

[His voice is already thick with sleep, Noel's exhausted and turned around, being in bed is a good decision even to his addled subconscious.

Just keep thinking of the warm blankets and nothing else.

[ He knows noel likes to carry guilt around, and if he focuses on something else he might be able to fall asleep properly. He shifts onto the bed a little more and toes off his boots. ]

[Noel makes space for Squall on the bed but mostly does as he's told. The blankets feel nice and warm, they're very pleasant. He can focus on the blankets.

There's a lot he wants to say to his friend but now that the world isn't spinning and the absolute worst of it is off of his mind he feels so much better. Falling asleep is pretty easy, all things considered.]

[ When he feels Noel is finally asleep he quietly reaches over to push his hair out of his face. ]

Wonder if you'll feel the same in the morning...

[He sleeps through the hair touching just fine, nothing short of a natural disaster would get him up right now.

Or the sudden and unbelievable need to vomit. That's what wakes him up around seven in the morning which, considering how late it was when he texted Squall, isn't even late in the morning. Noel practically dives over Squall - later he'll wonder why his friend was in bed with him at all, but anyway. - and sort of throws himself to the bathroom.

He makes it to the toilet in time but his damn hair is in the way.

Excuse him while he's gross, hopefully it'll be over soon.]
